“I was born in Zimbabwe, and moved to Cornwall, UK with my family in 2001. Since I was a young child, I said that I wanted to live in London or New York. I came to London to study Fine Art at University of the Arts: Central Saint Martins. Before coming to university in London, I did a discipleship training school with a Christian organisation called YWAM (Youth with a Mission) in Hawaii. I lived in a community and from that point I knew I wanted to continue living in community because it’s a wonderful opportunity to make true friends and share God’s love with people. I lived in my university student halls / residence in my first year and it felt very lonely, so when I found Lee Abbey London was like community living, I decided to live there in my two final years of studying. From day one the people living at Lee Abbey were so friendly and welcoming which gave me a huge account of peace. I made genuine true friends who I met at the various social events like nights celebrating different nationalities and jam sessions, and at the table where meals were shared – these were my favourite times. Although I have moved out of Lee Abbey after finishing my studies, I still feel at home and welcomed!!”
