Leadership Team

Meet our senior staff

James Fulford

Director: Operational & Commercial Services

I joined Lee Abbey as director in January this year.  Before I worked in different customer service roles around the world – ferries in France, the aquarium in Sydney, resorts in Cumbria, a language school in Spain.  I love working here and enjoy the energy and enthusiasm of the students and seeing the fun they are having, and I love that God’s love is so apparent in this place – even when you do not actually notice it! I love worshiping God, cycling and sailing and playing with my dog Zippy.

Sue Cady

Chaplain, Deputy Director, Head of Student and Pastoral Services

I love working at Lee Abbey. I became a Priest in the Church of England in 2017 after working as a physiotherapist and also teaching English as a second language (in my free time).

I enjoy meeting people, going out for coffee (or tea) with friends and reading fiction. I have just joined a gospel choir which is fun!

Chris Barry

HR Manager

I first joined the Lee Abbey London community as a volunteer from South Africa over 20 years ago,  I love meeting people from around the world and seeing them grow in their faith through being part of this community.  In my spare time I can often be found hiking in the Chilterns and enjoying the great outdoors.

Tim Pfeiffer

As a Facilities Project Manager, I enjoy solving problems and taking care of Health and Safety issues. I love music and play the piano and bass guitar. I have been a music director for 15 years. I love and play contemporary gospel, jazz and African gospel praise. I am a people person and an excellent communicator. I am originally from Nigeria .

Saffie Pearson

Maintenance Manager

In truth, my name is Saffie, its short for Sappfrul; my mum invented my name. I grew up in a non-Christian background and came to faith when I was 17. I have 1 brother who is 11 years older than me. I have lived for most of my life in and around London.  I’m a decent pool player so I’ve been told. I also love to tell terrible dad jokes and puns.

Lisa Huismann-Belkacem

I am originally from Germany and I came to the UK in 2015. I am married. In my free time, I enjoy going for walks in parks, my favourite one in London is Holland park. I enjoy working here with other community members.
