Residential Housekeeper

Residential Housekeeper

Do you want to join a ministry of evangelism, service and hospitality to international students in this hall of residence in central London?

Lee Abbey London is looking for a Residential Housekeeper to head up our House/Servery team, helping to provide God’s welcome and excellent hospitality to our guests and international students.

This is a practical hands-on role that requires you to work alongside your team and lead by example as you serve our guests and ensure that Lee Abbey provides excellent, clean and welcoming accommodation and facilities.

This post is at the Team Leader level. You will be responsible for leading a team of about 12 residential community members: preparing rotas, admin, training, working with budgets, ordering, liaising with relevant contractors, and managing your team’s Health & Safety. You should have:

  • an active and mature Christian faith and a sense of God’s calling to join Lee Abbey London’s ministry
  • housekeeping experience in a hospitality context
  • excellent admin and budgeting skills
  • a relational approach and good interpersonal skills
  • supervisory and management experience

We’re looking for someone who is motivated to serve others, and feels called to live, work, and worship in a Christian community. Community members help us run this busy hall of residence and work in the house whilst building relationships and sharing the Gospel with our residential students.

Community members benefit from daily worship and weekly discipleship training through the Lee Abbey London School of Ministry, and are given the opportunity to grow in their spiritual gifts throughout their time with us. Lee Abbey London has an active social programme where you will have opportunities to share any other gifts and talents you have.

Come join us as we live, work, learn, worship, and have fun together – celebrating all that Jesus is doing in our lives and in the lives of those we serve!

Lee Abbey London is part of a wider network under the umbrella of the Lee Abbey Movement, sharing Christ through relationships, nationally and globally.

This is a residential post that requires full membership of the residential Christian community at Lee Abbey London:

  • Full-time
  • Initial 3-year contract (fixed term)
  • Stipend plus accommodation incl. utilities & meals
  • Pension & benefits
  • Based in Kensington, London

Lee Abbey London is committed to safeguarding children and adults and expect all members of our team to share this commitment. A satisfactory Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required prior to confirmation of appointment.
